Bebel Doumbia the only senior Burkina Faso player travelling with U23 squad for Argentina friendly

Bebel Doumbia is the only member of Burkina Faso’s senior team to have travelled with the under-23 squad for Sunday’s friendly against Argentina in Buenos Aires.

The match is scheduled to take place on 4 October 2026, with Burkina Faso assembling a heavily changed side after a series of difficulties affecting the national team in recent days.

According to Burkinabe journalist Alexandre Rouamba, Rapid Bucharest midfielder Doumbia joined a largely reshaped group heading to Argentina.

The Etalons eventually left Casablanca on a special flight chartered from a Portuguese company, bound for Buenos Aires.

Burkina Faso will therefore face Argentina with a squad made up predominantly of young players.
