The BBC revealed the nominees for its Best African Player of the Year award on Monday. Five players are competing to succeed Zambian Christopher Katongo, who won last year.
They are the Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Ivorian Yaya Touré, the Nigerians John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses, and the Burkinabe Jonathan Pitroipa. This is the fifth consecutive time that Yaya Touré has been nominated for this award without ever winning it.
African football fans have until November 25 to vote for the best BBC African player of the year. Voting takes place on the BBC website or by text message to +44 7786 20 20 08 by sending:
