Bayern Munich maintain interest in Belgian-Guinean forward Malick Fofana
German outfit Bayern Munich are reportedly still interested in signing Belgian winger of Guinean descent, Malick Fofana.
According to BILD’s football chief Christian Falk, Bayern are currently working with two approaches in the transfer market.
The traditional method involves targeting a single, top-priority player, such as Florian Wirtz, and putting everything into securing that deal.
Sporting director Max Eberl, however, is said to favour a more modern approach: compiling a shortlist and working through it until the right player is found and available.
Initially, Bayern’s list of winger targets featured Nico Williams, followed by Jamie Gittens, and then Luis Díaz. Behind Díaz on the shortlist was Olympique Lyon’s Malick Fofana, who remains of interest to the Bavarians should other options prove unattainable.
At just 20, Fofana has impressed with his pace, directness, and flair, making him a potential long-term addition for Bayern as they look to bolster their wide options in the coming seasons.
The Bundesliga Champions are likely to make a formal approach in the January window.
