Bayern Munich in talks with Christopher Nkunku’s representatives in push to secure his services
German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are back in the race for the signing of France forward of Congolese descent Christopher Nkunku.
The Bundesliga champions have opened talks with the representatives of the attacker, hoping to sign him this summer from Chelsea.
According to BILD football editor Christian Falk, Bayern have initiated talks with Nkunku’s agent, Pini Zahavi, as the Bundesliga giants seek to strengthen their attacking options.
The 27-year-old, who is of Congolese descent, currently plays for Chelsea but could be on the move amid financial pressure on the Premier League club.
Chelsea are said to be keen on selling Nkunku outright and have reportedly set a price tag of around £35 million.
The Blues are not considering a loan move. Alongside Bayern Munich, both Manchester United and FC Barcelona have also shown interest in the French international.
Nkunku, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023, endured a difficult first season due to injuries, limiting his impact in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, his proven Bundesliga track record continues to attract suitors across Europe.
With Chelsea ready to sanction the transfer of Nkunku, it’s not up to Bayern Munich to meet the demands of the English club to make the signing possible.
