Bayern Munich and Liverpool have expressed firm interest in signing France international of Angolan descent Castello Lukeba in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Since joining Leipzig from formative club Olympique Lyonnais, Lukeba has built his reputation at the club, marking 72 appearances.

As the summer transfer window heat up, Lukeba, considered as one of the top defenders in Europe, has attracted significant interest from Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

The defender is open for a summer departure and could head to either Bayern Munich or Liverpool as the transfer window heat up.

According to reports, both clubs are determined and unwilling to back down in offering superior contract terms to the 22-year-old defender.

For now, Leipzig has received unofficial inquiries from Bayern and Liverpool representatives, but official negotiations could kick off at any moment.

Whilst the defender has a release clause worth €90m, RB Leipzig are open to parting ways with their player for a lower fee.
