Bayer Leverkusen have completed the acquisition of Franco-Ivorian defender Axel Tape in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 17-year-old defender is joining the German Bundesliga outfit as a free agent from Paris Saint Germain following the expiration of his contract. His contract with PSG officially runs out on June 30.

Having passed his medical, the talented defender has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.

The versatile youth product who can play either in defence as a centre-back or in midfield made three appearances for PSG this season after being in and around the squad, occasionally being included on the bench.

In the Coupe de France, he played against amateur side Espaly and at the end of the campaign, he also made two appearances in dead rubber ties against RC Strasbourg Alsace (2-1 loss) and Montpellier HSC (4-1 win).

The enterprising youngster has been tipped to attain greater heights of his football career, having showcased glimpse of good performance.
