Ibrahim Maza is on the verge of joining Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen, with the club leading the race for the Hertha BSC talent.
The 19-year-old German-Algerian midfielder has attracted strong interest, but Leverkusen’s offer of Champions League football and a clear development path has reportedly won him over.
According to Kicker, the newly crowned double winners have already opened talks with Maza after Hertha’s recent match in Cologne. A final decision is expected within ten days.
Though VfB Stuttgart still admire the midfielder coach Sebastian Hoeneß is said to be a huge fan they previously turned down a €6 million bid last summer. Now, the asking price has risen significantly. Any Bundesliga side aiming to sign Maza would likely need to pay between €11 and €15 million, depending on Hertha’s season finish, Maza’s individual stats, and whether the buying club qualifies for Europe.
Leverkusen are reportedly ready to pay €13 to €14 million to bring the Berlin-born prospect on board, putting them firmly in the driving seat.
