Barcelona are said to be growing increasingly concerned over the off-field behaviour of teenage star Lamine Yamal, following recent controversies that have sparked backlash in Spain.
Yamal, who has Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean roots through his parents, turned 18 earlier this month and has reportedly found himself at the centre of a police investigation.
The scrutiny stems from claims that individuals with dwarfism and women with specific physical traits were allegedly exploited during his birthday celebrations.
The allegations have drawn widespread criticism and raised questions over the conduct of the young forward.
Spanish journalist Pipi Estrada reports that senior figures at Barcelona are “very worried” about the unfolding situation, particularly given the timing—just days after Yamal committed to a new long-term contract at the club and was handed the iconic No. 10 shirt.
The development comes as a distraction during a period where the Catalan giants are hoping to maintain focus ahead of the new campaign.
Yamal has since returned to pre-season training under manager Hansi Flick, as the club prepares for the 2025-26 season.
The young attacker is expected to play a pivotal role, especially following his breakthrough performances last season.
Barcelona have yet to issue an official statement regarding the police investigation.
