Spanish international of Moroccan descent Lamine Yamal is a major doubt ahead OF Barcelona’s game against Atletico Madrid in the La Liga.
The 17-year-old suffered a fresh injury when Barcelona succumbed to a narrow defeat against Leganes on Sunday night.
Yamal sustained a sprain in the match after being on the receiving end of a strong tackle from an opponent.
The enterprising winger seemed to be in discomfort from midway through the first half itself but was taken off only deep in the second period.
Yamal was spotted limping of the stadium, sparking concerns about his availability for the crucial game against Atletico Madrid.
He is expected to undergo test to determine the extent of the injury but practically, Yamal is out of the crunch game with Atletico Madrid.
The winger has been directly involved in 18 goals in 21 matches for Barcelona this season – with six goals and 12 assists to his name.
