Spanish giants Barcelona are said to have joined the race for the signature of in-form Fiorentina forward Moise Kean.
The 25-year-old, who has Ivorian roots but plays for the Italian national team, is enjoying a standout season that has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
His resurgence at Fiorentina has seen him net 21 goals and contribute three assists in 36 appearances across all competitions—his most productive campaign to date.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, Kean’s impressive displays have placed him firmly on the radar of top clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options.
Barcelona, in particular, are believed to be scouting him as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski.
While the Polish striker continues to deliver goals, the Catalan club is keen to future-proof its forward line as Lewandowski enters the latter stages of his career.
A key detail in Kean’s current contract could accelerate transfer activity: he is available for a fixed fee of €52 million (£44.2 million) between July 1 and July 15.
That buyout clause provides a narrow window for clubs to make a decisive move without entering drawn-out negotiations.
Fiorentina, however, are reluctant to part ways with their leading goal scorer.
Club president Rocco B. Commisso recently addressed the speculation surrounding Kean’s future, underlining the club’s desire to retain him, though he acknowledged that a major offer could prompt discussions.
“I want him to stay here, he’s very important to us,” he recently told SkySport24. “If someone makes an offer then we’ll evaluate, but I’ll try to keep him at Fiorentina.”
Kean’s career has experienced ups and downs, including less successful stints at Juventus and Everton, but his resurgence in Florence has placed him back among Europe’s most sought-after talents.
