Barcelona scouts will be present at Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Atlético Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen to assess two key players from the German club—Jonathan Tah and Florian Wirtz.
Both players are reportedly being considered for future moves to the Catalan club, with Barcelona keen to strengthen their squad.
Jonathan Tah, a 28-year-old center-back of Ivorian descent, has been a fixture at Leverkusen for over a decade, amassing more than 350 appearances.
Barcelona has already engaged in discussions with his agent, Pini Zahavi, about a potential free transfer when Tah’s contract expires this summer.
The German international, who has earned 33 caps, is seen by the Blaugrana as a valuable “market opportunity” to bolster their defense.
Head coach Hansi Flick is looking to add depth to his backline, and Tah’s experience and proven skills are considered appealing.
In addition, 21-year-old attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz is also on Barcelona’s radar.
Though he has been pursued by several top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona’s interest has intensified due to Wirtz’s impressive performances.
The youngster’s contract with Leverkusen runs until 2027, although reports suggest he may extend it further in the near future.
