Following Tito Vilanova’s resignation from his position as coach of FC Barcelona due to a relapse of parotid gland cancer, his assistant, Rubi, is reportedly set to take over as the head coach for the upcoming season. According to the Spanish daily Deportivo, Rubi is likely to be on the bench as Vilanova’s successor.
This situation echoes a similar one from the previous year when Vilanova experienced health issues related to his parotid gland cancer, leading him to undergo treatment in the United States. During his absence, the interim coaching duties were handled by Jordi Roura until April. Now, it seems that Rubi is poised to step into the role for the upcoming season.
