Barcelona sporting director Deco believes rising star Lamine Yamal is perfectly positioned to achieve legendary status at the club, highlighting the club’s environment and competitive demands as ideal for the teenager’s development.
Speaking on Cara a Cara, Deco expressed confidence in Yamal’s ability to reach the highest level in world football.
Yamal, born in Spain to a Moroccan father and mother, has emerged as one of the most exciting young players in Europe.
At just 17, the forward has already broken into Barcelona’s first team and drawn widespread attention for his maturity, technical ability, and fearlessness on the pitch.
“Lamine is a phenomenon,” Deco said. “Becoming the best in the world depends only on him. He has talent, personality and now also responsibility.

“He has matured quickly, he understands what it means to be a player with expectations on his shoulders,” he said.
Drawing comparisons to former Barcelona forward Neymar, Deco added, “His beginnings are very similar to Neymar’s. Now he has more responsibility, but also the right age to handle it.”
