Barcelona’s search for a new striker is heating up, but it looks like Alexander Isak won’t be heading to Camp Nou any time soon.
Despite being a top target to replace Robert Lewandowski in the long run, the Swedish-Eritrean forward’s steep price tag has put the brakes on any potential move.
According to Marca, Barca are hesitant to pursue Isak due to his high valuation. While Transfermarkt lists him at €100 million, Newcastle United are believed to want closer to €150 million, a figure Barcelona aren’t prepared to meet.
Isak has been in top form since joining the Premier League side, with 62 goals and 11 assists in 100 appearances. His consistency and skill in front of goal make him one of the league’s standout performers.
With finances tight, the Catalan giants are now looking at other options. According to reports in England Newcastle United coach Eddie Howe has told the club’s management not to sell Alexander Isak this summer.
