FC Barcelona are reportedly considering a summer acquisition to bolster their attacking options, with Atalanta’s Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman, emerging as a potential target.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old striker is on the Catalan club’s radar as they seek to enhance their offensive lineup.
Atalanta, aware of Lookman’s aspirations for a larger platform, is purportedly open to negotiations and may entertain offers around €30 million, despite his contract extending until 2026.
Lookman has been instrumental in Atalanta’s commendable performance in the 2024/25 season. As of March 2025, he has amassed 13 goals in Serie A, showcasing his scoring prowess.
Notably, his contributions were pivotal in Atalanta’s resounding 4-0 victory over Juventus on March 10, 2025, a win that positioned the team just three points behind league leaders Inter Milan.
In addition to his domestic league success, Lookman has been influential in European competitions. He scored against Real Madrid in a UEFA Champions League group stage match on December 10, 2024, underscoring his ability to perform on the big stages.
Lookman’s consistent performances have not gone unnoticed. He was nominated for the Forward of the Year at the Gran Galà del Calcio awards in November 2024, reflecting his standing among Italy’s elite forwards.
Furthermore, he clinched Atalanta’s Player of the Season award for the second consecutive year in June 2024.
Barcelona’s interest in Lookman aligns with their strategy to infuse fresh talent into their squad. His proven track record in Italy and Europe positions him as a viable candidate to enhance the Blaugrana’s attacking dynamics.
