Nigeria-born forward Junior Adamu has completed a loan move to Scottish Premiership side Celtic.
The 24-year-old signed for Celtic on Monday, February 2, on a loan deal from German outfit SC Freiburg with an option for a permanent deal.
At his new club, Junior Adamu is hoping to play regularly to continue his development.
Commenting on the transfer, SC Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach explained why the loan was necessary.
“Junior has undoubtedly always put the team first, but his playing time has recently been unsatisfactory for both him and us – we hope the loan to Celtic will bring new momentum,” he said.
Junior Adamu joined SC Freiburg from RB Salzburg in the summer of 2023. During his time at SC Freiburg, he made 67 competitive appearances, where he scored seven goals and provided four assists.
This season, Adamu has only accumulated 967 minutes across all competitions for SC Freiburg.
He now hopes to play regularly for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
