Austrian defender of Nigerian descent, David Alaba, is set to spend one more season at Real Madrid.
The 32-year-old signed for Los Blancos from German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich in 2021.
This season, Alaba has struggled to make an impact due to recurring injuries. In the 2024/25 Spanish La Liga season, the versatile defender has only made six appearances.
As a result of his lack of impact, reports suggest that Real Madrid will consider partying ways with David Alaba in the summer transfer window.
Today, information gathered from the Spanish media indicates that Alaba could be allowed to see out his current contract, which runs until 2026.
It is believed that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has faith in Alaba’s ability to bounce back and return to his best once fully fit.
He reportedly understands that the defender’s dip in form is largely due to extended periods on the sidelines.
Should the manager stay at Real Madrid beyond this season, then Alaba will surely stay as well.
