Aurelien Tchouameni emerges as Real Madrid midfield key

Aurelien Tchouameni is being viewed inside Real Madrid as an essential part of the midfield structure, with the coaching staff convinced that his presence can restore order, protection and balance to the team.

The Frenchman missed the opening weeks of the season after suffering an injury during the World Cup.

According to Diario AS, Real Madrid’s staff regard Tchouameni as the player best equipped to shield the defence and control the space between the lines. Despite initial doubts about his readiness, Jose Mourinho surprisingly selected him to start against Elche.

Tchouameni responded by completing 86 minutes and recording a 95.2 percent passing accuracy. His performance underlined the qualities Mourinho values most: positional discipline, physical strength and the ability to prevent opponents from progressing through the centre of the pitch.

The midfielder’s return could not have come at a more important time, with the Madrid derby against Atletico approaching at the Metropolitano. He is expected to partner Federico Valverde, providing the defensive foundation Real Madrid need in a demanding fixture.

With domestic and European matches arriving quickly, Tchouaméni’s availability gives Mourinho greater security in midfield. His presence may also allow teammates to play with more freedom, knowing the Frenchman is protecting the team behind them.
