Aurel Bisseck has confirmed that his international future lies with Germany, despite approaches from Cameroon.
The Inter Milan defender, who has been a standout in the German youth teams, remains focused on representing the Nationalmannschaft at senior level.
In an interview with Bild, Bisseck expressed his deep respect for Germany, recounting the excitement he felt when national coach Julian Nagelsmann personally reached out to him.
I haven’t decided anything yet, but my clear priority is the German national team,” Bisseck said. “When I heard ‘Hello, Julian Nagelsmann here on the phone,’ I felt incredible emotions.
The national coach knows my name! That’s a huge thing, I’m very happy about it.
I think it’s really cool that the national coach is contacting me personally.
I appreciate that beyond measure, it’s a great sign of respect.
Despite Cameroon’s efforts to convince him to join their ranks, including direct outreach from Samuel Eto’o, Bisseck appears firmly committed to his German roots.
However, this decision carries its own set of challenges, especially given the uncertain fate of players like Youssoufa Moukoko, who chose Germany only to struggle for regular appearances at the senior level.
Bisseck’s path to a prominent role in the national team remains uncertain, but his admiration for the German system and its leadership suggests he is determined to carve out his own place.
Bisseck’s choice underlines a deep connection to Germany, yet his future in the team will depend on how he continues to develop at the club level and how he is utilized by Nagelsmann’s side.
