Aubameyang urges Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah to join Marseille amid transfer speculation

Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has expressed his support for Eddie Nketiah to move to Marseille this summer, despite having recently departed the French club himself.

Aubameyang, who signed with Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah earlier this month, responded to a fan’s social media post urging him to convince Nketiah to join Marseille.

The fan’s message read, “Tell Nketiah to come to OM (Olympique de Marseille),” to which Aubameyang replied, “Already done.”

This response has ignited optimism among Marseille supporters that a deal for Nketiah could be on the horizon.

The speculation surrounding Nketiah’s potential move to Ligue 1 has been fueled by reports that the 24-year-old striker has agreed personal terms with Marseille.

However, the transfer has been stalled due to ongoing negotiations between Arsenal and Marseille over the transfer fee.

Nketiah, who has been with Arsenal since joining their youth academy in 2015, has found first-team opportunities limited at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite showing promise and scoring crucial goals, the young forward has struggled to secure a regular starting position in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

With Arsenal having a wealth of attacking options, including Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, Nketiah’s chances of consistent playing time appear slim.

Marseille, on the other hand, are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The French club, which finished third in Ligue 1 last season, is looking to strengthen its squad as it prepares for a campaign that includes Champions League football.

Nketiah’s potential arrival would provide Marseille with a versatile forward capable of playing across the front line and adding a clinical edge to their attack.

Aubameyang’s endorsement of Nketiah’s move to Marseille carries significant weight, given his own successful stint at the club.

The Gabonese striker joined Marseille on loan from Arsenal in the previous season and made a notable impact before securing a permanent move to Al-Qadsiah.

Aubameyang’s positive experience in Marseille and his belief in Nketiah’s abilities have undoubtedly influenced his public support for the transfer.

While the final agreement between Arsenal and Marseille remains pending, fans of the French club are hopeful that Nketiah will soon don the blue and white of Marseille.

The potential move represents a crucial opportunity for Nketiah to gain regular playing time and further develop his career in a competitive league.

As the summer transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on the negotiations between Arsenal and Marseille.

Should the deal go through, it will mark a significant step for Nketiah and provide Marseille with a promising young talent eager to make his mark in European football.
