Diego Simeone, the mastermind behind Atletico Madrid’s La Liga triumph in the 2013-2014 season, has expressed his interest in coaching a Brazilian club in the future. Speaking to ESPN Brasil, the Argentine coach praised the Brazilian national team and its style of play.
“Brazil is a dangerous team, with a lot of options especially defensively but with a very strong midfield. If Brazil plays like they did in the Confederations Cup, with the same aggressiveness and the same collective play, they will be very dangerous at the World Cup,” said Simeone.
He continued, “I’ve been thinking about coaching a team in Brazil for years. It’s incredible the talent of the players there, the style of football, the full stadiums. Yes, one day I would like to coach in Brazil.”
Currently, Simeone is focused on preparing Atletico Madrid for the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 24.
