Diego Costa, who recently proved to be a thorn in Chelsea’s side at Stamford Bridge, is reportedly set to join the English club next season.
According to reports from Eurosport, Atlético Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the player next summer.
The deal is said to be worth 75 million pounds, including transfer fees and the player’s salary. This agreement was finalized during a meeting in London between the involved parties.
Chelsea is expected to pay around 35 million pounds (approximately 42 million euros) for the striker. Additionally, the London club plans to triple Costa’s current salary. The 25-year-old Spanish international is set to sign a five-year contract with a weekly salary of 150,000 pounds.
Chelsea aims to officially confirm the deal before the end of the season.
