Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman signals Atalanta exit amid Inter Milan interest

Italian outfit Atalanta are reportedly unwilling to transfer Ademola Lookman to any of their rivals in Serie A.

Lookman’s situation has been a recurring subject in the transfer market, especially after a summer window filled with rumours but no concrete moves. His recent absence from Atalanta’s matchday squads has only fuelled further talk of a potential January exit.

However, Italian journalist and Nerazzurri supporter Fabrizio Biasin dismissed the speculation, insisting that a mid-season switch within Italy is off the table.

“Lookman at Inter in January? I’d tend to rule that out. When Atalanta rejected Inter’s €42 million plus €3 million offer, they didn’t say ‘we want more.’

They said we won’t sell him in Italy. This is legitimate, and Percassi hasn’t changed his mind, and I doubt he’ll change it. He’ll probably lose money on Lookman, even a lot, but he can always tell the fans he kept his word,” Biasin explained.

With the Africa Cup of Nations on the horizon, where Lookman is expected to feature for Nigeria in January, a winter move appears increasingly unlikely.

The forward’s long-term future remains uncertain, but the strongest indications suggest that if he does leave Bergamo, it will be abroad and not to another Serie A club.

If any move is to happen, it will likely be next summer.
