Revered football agent Saif Rubie is on the neck of Premier League club, Chelsea, demanding for his percentage of the transfer fee of defender Kurt Zouma following his move to West Ham United years back.
The French international of Central African Republic root departed Chelsea to join the Hammers for 35 million Euros transfer fee in 2021.
Zouma established himself as a key cog to the team, securing captaincy role at the club before departing for Saudi Arabia.
The 30-year-old centre-back is currently on loan at Al-Orobah in the Saudi Professional League.
After almost four years, it turns out that some parties still have unresolved financial issues with regards to Zouma’s move from Chelsea to West Ham.
According to reports in the UK media, Zouma’s agent Saif Rubie has filed a lawsuit against former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia over her involvement in the non-payment of transfer commissions.
Last year, a jury acquitted Rubie for sending Granovskaia a threatening letter to criminal court regarding the Zouma deal, and since then, he has launched his own case against Granovskaia.
Under FIFA regulations, an agent acting on behalf of the selling club is entitled to 10 percent of the transfer fee, which means Rubie is owed about 3.5 million euros.
Zouma is expected to return to parent club West Ham United at the end of his loan spell in June 2025.
