Aston Villa wants to keep French-DR Congo defender Axel Disasi after loan spell

Premier League club Aston Villa are keen on keeping French international of DR Congo descent Alex Disasi after his loan spell.

The 26-year-old centre-back joined Aston Villa during the January transfer window after struggling to hold down a starting spot at Chelsea.

Since joining on loan at the end of January, Disasi has made five appearances, establishing himself as a key member of the team.

According to reports, Aston Villa are very happy with his performances and would prefer signing the defender beyond the end of his current loan spell.

Meanwhile, Disasi joined Aston Villa without a permanent option being included in the deal.

However, Disasi, who is hoping for a return to the national team set-up later this month, is garnering interest from other unnamed Premier League clubs.

Disasi joined Chelsea from AS Monaco but struggled to settle in well at the Stamford Bridge.
