Aston Villa have begun negotiations with midfielder Boubacar Kamara over a contract extension, with discussions expected to progress smoothly for both sides.
The French international, who has Senegalese heritage through his father, has been a key figure in Villa’s squad since joining on a free transfer from Marseille in 2023.
Under manager Unai Emery, the 25-year-old has established himself as one of the team’s most consistent performers.
According to The Telegraph, the club is eager to extend Kamara’s contract beyond its current expiration in 2027. Talks have already started, and reports suggest that an agreement is likely to be reached without complications.
This news will come as a relief to Villa fans, as Kamara has been a crucial part of the team since his arrival.
Villa’s struggles in his absence last season highlighted his importance. After suffering a serious knee injury against Manchester United, which resulted in a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the team’s form dipped significantly.
They managed just eight wins in their final 20 matches, underlining how much they rely on Kamara’s presence in midfield.
This season, the midfielder has featured in 28 matches across all competitions, including six starts in the Champions League and 13 in the Premier League.
If Villa secures European football for next season, Kamara could be even more inclined to commit his future to the club, providing a major boost ahead of the new campaign.
