Aston Villa interest reported in West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the England and DR Congo defender currently at West Ham, has been linked with a move to Premier League club Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old right-back is under consideration for a move from a West Ham side preparing for life in the Championship after being relegated from the top flight in the 2025-26 season. Aston Villa remain in the Premier League.

Wan-Bissaka joined West Ham from Manchester United on 13 August 2024 in a deal worth €17.6m. His current market value is listed at €15m, although there has been no indication of a proposed fee or whether the clubs have opened negotiations.

He has made an immediate contribution at the 2026 World Cup, starting all four of his side’s matches and featuring for 99% of the available minutes. He has not appeared in West Ham’s only listed EFL Cup fixture of the 2026-27 campaign.

Wan-Bissaka began his senior career at Crystal Palace before moving to Manchester United in 2019. He won the FA Cup with United in 2024, shortly before leaving Old Trafford for West Ham.

The player’s contract at West Ham runs until 30 June 2031, meaning any move to Villa would involve a transfer rather than a free-agent departure.
