Ashraf Darri officially joins Belgian pro league
Sporting Charleroi, the Belgian football club, officially announced the acquisition of Moroccan international Ashraf Darri on Thursday.
The 24-year-old player joins the team on loan from Stade Brestois in France.
The Belgian club revealed on its official website that they “reached an agreement with Stade Brestois for the loan of Ashraf Darri without a purchase option for a duration of 5 months (until June 30, 2024).”
Darri’s arrival, a talented defender, to Sporting Charleroi is seen as a strategic move to bolster the team’s defensive line for the remainder of the season.
The club emphasized Darri’s contribution to Morocco’s national team during the World Cup, stating, “With a total of 187 minutes played, the Moroccan international was part of the squad that achieved Morocco’s best participation in the World Cup.”
Having received his training at Wydad Casablanca, Darri, after starting his professional career with Wydad during the 2018-2019 season, made the move to Stade Brestois in the summer of 2022.
Darri has accumulated experience through 164 professional matches across various competitions, showcasing his defensive prowess and contributing with 12 goals and 2 assists during his career.
