Moroccan international Ashraf Dari has expressed his desire to play for Sporting Charleroi in Belgium, departing from Stade Brestois in France, in order to compete in bigger matches with the aim of returning to the national team.
Dari affirmed in an interview with Belgian website “DHNET” that he has long wanted to play for Charleroi and received numerous offers from agents, which he declined, before finally being able to join the team on loan.
The former Wydad defender explained, “Charleroi has always been my first choice, and I am pleased with my move here.
I will do my utmost to make the fans and the coach proud of me.”
He continued, “I hope to have the opportunity to play more matches in the future and to contribute to my team’s success, helping us to improve our position by the end of the season.”
Dari did not hide his ambition to improve his individual performance as well, aiming to return to the ranks of the Moroccan national team in future competitions, expressing his desire to wear the national jersey again in upcoming matches.
The Moroccan defender moved to Charleroi after the latter reached an official agreement with Brest, securing his loan until June of the current year, without an option to buy his contract.
Dari has previously represented the Moroccan national team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring a goal in the match against Croatia in the playoff.
As Dari embarks on this new chapter in his career, he looks forward to making significant contributions to his new club and hopes that his performances will catch the attention of national team selectors, enabling him to once again don the jersey of his country on the international stage.
