ASEC Mimosas secured their ticket to the quarter-finals of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League with a dominant 3-0 victory against Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana on the 4th day of the 2018 tournament groups.

ASEC’s triumphant performance unfolded at their home ground, Felicia, where they established control early in the match. Avo Leibé Junior set the tone by opening the scoring in the 11th minute, showcasing the Ivorian club’s determination.

The second half witnessed further brilliance from ASEC, as captain Essis Baudelaire Fulgence Aka extended the lead with a goal at the 80th minute.

The offensive prowess of the team was exemplified once again by 20-year-old Sankara William Karamoko, who, having already secured a double in the first leg, completed the scoring festival in the 90+1 minute.

This commanding victory not only solidifies ASEC Mimosas’ first-place position in Group B standings with 10 points but also ensures their qualification for the quarter-finals of the prestigious Champions League.

ASEC’s return to the quarter-finals marks a significant achievement, breaking a dry spell since 2006 in the highly competitive continental club competition.

The Ivorian club’s recent success reflects their renewed prowess and determination to make a lasting impact on the CAF Champions League stage.

As they look ahead to the quarter-finals, ASEC Mimosas carries the momentum of their recent victories, positioning themselves as formidable contenders in the pursuit of continental glory.

The team’s remarkable journey in the CAF Champions League captivates fans and underscores their resurgence on the African football landscape.
