AS Monaco is keen on keeping Franco-Algeria attacker Maghnes Akliouche amid growing interest in the current summer transfer window.
Coveted throughout the transfer window by a hosts of clubs in Europe, Akliouche has defied expectations and remains at his formative club, just days before the closure of the transfer window.
Despite being a top transfer target for clubs, his €70m price tag appears to have dissuaded suitors. Monaco feels vindicated to have hold firm to the price valuation following the forward’s first France call-up.
Amid growing interest, Monaco’s CEO, Thiago Scuro in an interview was clear in his stance on a departure.
“Is there the possibility that Akliouche leaves? No, not from our side. We have said since June that we wanted to keep him. He understands that, too. Can we refuse a €60m offer? Yes, we can. We don’t have the intention of selling him,” said Scuro.
The 23-year-old talented attacker has been in books of Monaco since 2022, with his current contract expected to expire in 2028.
