AS Monaco confirm French-Malian midfielder Soungoutou Magassa’s imminent departure
French-Malian midfielder Soungoutou Magassa is on the verge of departing AS Monaco in the current summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move away from Monaco this summer missed training held at La Turbie on Friday.
Magassa has already arrived in London to seal a move to West Ham United. The Hammers has met Monaco’s valuation for the midfielder and are expected splash €17m plus an extra €3m in add-ons for his signing.
At a press conference, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro revealed that the absence of Magassa from training was due to an impending transfer.
The midfielder is set to sign a four-year deal, with an option for a further two years. He is expected to play a huge role for the Hammers as they seeks to make a meaningful impact this season.
West Ham United have yet to secure a point after two games into the season, succumbing to defeat against Sunderland and Chelsea.
