AS FAR striker Youssef El Fahli has finished the 2024/25 Moroccan Professional League season as the top scorer, netting 11 goals.
El Fahli tied with Wydad Casablanca’s Mohamed El Rayhi in the goal tally, but edged him out for the Golden Boot due to scoring fewer penalties.
While El Rayhi converted four goals from the spot, El Fahli scored just one, giving him the advantage under league rules, which prioritise fewer penalties in the event of a tie.
This season’s top scorer tally marks the lowest since the Moroccan league adopted its professional system in 2012. The previous record low was 12 goals, set by Zouhair Naim with Moghreb Tetouan in the 2012–13 campaign.
Despite the modest total, El Fahli’s consistency proved decisive. He joined FAR Rabat during last summer’s transfer window and quickly became a key player.
As AS FAR prepares to represent Morocco in the upcoming CAF Champions League, El Fahli is expected to remain a central figure in the squad.
Mohamed Boussati of KAC Kénitra still holds the all-time single-season scoring record with 25 goals—a feat set over four decades ago.
