Arsenal have revived their pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman as the summer transfer window heats up.
The Gunners made an attempt to sign the Nigerian international last summer but were unable to meet Atalanta’s valuation at the time.
Now 27, Lookman is once again attracting Premier League interest following another stellar season in Italy.
Atalanta reportedly value the former Charlton Athletic and Everton attacker between €45 million and €50 million, excluding add-ons.
Lookman believes he has done enough during his time in Serie A to earn a return to the English top flight.
In the recently ended season, the former Fulham forward netted 20 goals and provided seven assists in 40 appearances, playing a key role in Atalanta’s third-place league finish and progression to the Champions League knockout stages.
Signed from RB Leipzig in 2022 for just under €11 million plus bonuses and a sell-on clause, Lookman has flourished under Gian Piero Gasperini.
He has racked up 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 matches for the Italian side.
His crowning moment came in the 2024 Europa League final, where he scored a sensational hat-trick to lead Atalanta to victory over Bayer Leverkusen—an achievement that helped him earn the 2024 African Player of the Year award.
