Arsenal are preparing a cash-plus-player proposal in their attempt to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with the club’s technical director Andrea Berta leading negotiations.
The Gunners are keen to beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of the 27-year-old, who has emerged as one of the most creative midfielders in the Premier League.
Eze, born in England to Nigerian parents, remains eligible for the Super Eagles despite having represented England at senior level.
His growing influence at Palace and versatility across midfield have made him a high-value target for top clubs this summer.
According to The Sun, Berta has already held talks with the player’s representatives and is working on a package that would combine a transfer fee with the inclusion of a young Arsenal defender.
Palace have consistently referred all interest to Eze’s £68 million buyout clause but may be tempted if the right player is offered in return.
Though no player has been officially named, Polish centre-back Jakub Kiwior has been mentioned as a potential makeweight in the deal. Palace are said to be looking to strengthen defensively, which could make such a proposal more appealing.
Arsenal are expected to intensify their pursuit in the coming days as Mikel Arteta continues to reshape his midfield options.
With Tottenham also showing strong interest, Berta’s strategy may be key in tipping the deal Arsenal’s way.
Eze scored 11 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League last season, and his ability to operate both centrally and in wider attacking roles makes him a flexible asset for any top side.
