Premier League outfit Arsenal have reportedly contacted Nigeria star Victor Osimhen in an attempt to finalise agreement to sign the forward in the upcoming transfer window.
Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli on a permanent deal once his loan spell with Galatasaray ends, with several top clubs interested in triggering his €75 million release clause.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta seeks to strengthen his attack after recent poor scoring rate in the Premier League.
However, Arsenal are said to have officially made contact with Osimhen’s camp last week, as they push to snap up the Nigerian international in the summer at the expense of other clubs.
The Gunners are willing to trigger his €75m release clause in order to complete a deal, halting Benjamin Sesko signing this summer.
Osimhen has scored 20 goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, the estimated market value of the Nigerian international stands €67.2m.
Osimhen is expected to join the Nigeria national team ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria has been poor in the qualifiers, picking just three points from the initial four games in Group C.
