Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Algerian forward Mohamed Amoura this summer, should they fail to secure a deal for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

The Gunners are among several Premier League clubs monitoring Amoura’s situation as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Amoura, 24, is currently on loan at Wolfsburg from Belgian Pro League side Union SG and has emerged as one of the most underrated strikers in European football.

The Algerian international has been in fine form in the Bundesliga this season, netting ten goals and providing eight assists in 24 appearances under former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl.

His impressive output has made him one of the most creative players in the league, with only Michael Olise, Omar Marmoush, and Florian Wirtz registering more assists.

Despite missing the start of the campaign due to a knee injury, Amoura has become a key figure for Wolfsburg.

His performances have caught the attention of several clubs, with French outlet L’Equipe reporting that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest have all made inquiries about his availability.

All three sides are looking to bolster their attacking ranks, and Amoura’s “versatility and verticality” make him a strong candidate for a move to the Premier League.

A transfer fee of approximately £30 million is expected to be sufficient to secure his services.

However, Wolfsburg hold an option to buy him permanently from Union SG for €14 million (£11m), with an additional €4 million (£3m) in potential add-ons, provided they maintain their Bundesliga status.
