Arne Slot stands firm on Mohamed Salah exit criticism

Arne Slot has responded firmly to criticism surrounding Mohamed Salah’s decision to leave Liverpool, making it clear he stands by every choice he made during the saga.

The Liverpool head coach stressed he feels nothing but conviction about his handling of the club’s former star forward.

“I have no regrets about how I handled the situation,” Slot insisted when asked whether he would do anything differently. He underlined that the final call rested with the player, saying: “It’s completely his own decision to leave,” before adding: “He should explain why he wants to go.”

Salah had previously hinted that he felt “not valued” and suggested his relationship with Slot had deteriorated over the course of the season. Periods spent on the bench only deepened speculation over a rift between the pair and fuelled debate among supporters.

Despite the noise, Slot maintains Liverpool behaved appropriately, both on and off the pitch, throughout the stand-off. Salah’s departure now closes a glittering chapter at Anfield, leaving fans to process the end of an era and question what comes next for a club that built so much of its identity around the Egyptian forward.
