Arne Slot addresses Mohamed Salah injury after Liverpool victory

Arne Slot, Liverpool manager, discussed his team’s 3-1 triumph over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, a match marked by controversy surrounding a disputed goal and the injury suffered by Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

Speaking to BBC after the encounter, Slot commented on the contentious goal that made the match more tense. “The game became more stressful because of the goal we conceded. I don’t think we deserved to concede it that way. Crystal Palace was more present in the match than the 2-0 scoreline suggested. Is there any game we play without refereeing controversy?” he stated.

Regarding the Daniel Munoz goal, which came while Liverpool’s goalkeeper was down, Slot explained his frustration with the officiating rather than the player’s decision. “How many times have you played against a team where a player falls to the ground and the referee blows his whistle? It happened against Manchester United when Mac Allister went down, but they continued playing and Macca needed five stitches afterward. By the way, I don’t blame the opponent; I blame the referee who should have stopped play,” he remarked.

On Salah’s injury, Slot expressed concern about the severity. “Another win and another injury, that’s the story of our season. It’s too early to judge, but we all know Mo and how difficult it is for him to leave the pitch. Salah coming off gives you an indication of something, but we have to wait to see how bad the injury is,” he concluded.
