Olympique Lyonnais Féminin have confirmed the signing of French international striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto on a four-year contract, following her departure from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 26-year-old, widely regarded as one of the most prolific forwards in modern women’s football, joins the reigning Arkema Premier League champions in a major move that marks the end of her 12-year spell at PSG.
Katoto will remain with Lyon until at least 2029, in a transfer that significantly strengthens the club’s already formidable attacking options.
Katoto leaves Paris with an exceptional record, having scored 162 goals in 205 appearances. During her time at PSG, she helped the club secure one Division 1 Féminine title and two Coupe de France Féminine trophies. Her goal-scoring prowess, technical ability, and consistency in front of goal have long made her a key figure in French football.
At international level, Katoto has been equally impressive. Since making her debut for the France national team, she has netted 37 times in 52 appearances, underlining her importance as a central figure in the squad’s attacking setup.
Lyon, in their official announcement on Wednesday, expressed their excitement at adding Katoto to their ranks. “Fast and skillful in front of goal, MAK has made a difference on the pitch from a very young age,” the club noted.
“Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to have convinced Marie-Antoinette Katoto to join Les Fenottes for the rest of her career and looks forward to seeing her grow and shine over the next four seasons.”
Katoto’s arrival follows the recent signing of German international Jule Brand, as OL Lyon continue to reinforce their squad with elite-level talent. With both players now on board, the club is clearly positioning itself to maintain domestic dominance and push for further European success.
The move also marks a new chapter for Katoto, whose departure from PSG comes after more than a decade with the club she joined as a teenager.
Her transition to Lyon is seen as one of the most high-profile transfers in recent Arkema Premier League history, and her performances will be closely watched as she adapts to life in Lyon’s system.
Katoto is expected to link up with her new teammates during the club’s pre-season preparations, and anticipation is high for her debut in Lyon colours.
The club’s supporters will be eager to see how her goal-scoring abilities translate into a new tactical environment, especially in a squad already boasting top-tier talent and experience.
As OL Lyon prepare for another campaign with ambitions at home and in Europe, the addition of Marie-Antoinette Katoto sends a strong message.
The Fenottes remain committed to assembling one of the most competitive squads in world football, and with Katoto now among their ranks, they have secured a striker capable of making an immediate and lasting impact.
