The board of Al Ahly, under the leadership of Mahmoud El Khatib, held a meeting at the club’s headquarters on Al Jazeera island to discuss several important agendas concerning various sectors of the club at present.
Captain El Khatib commenced the session by reviewing the outcomes of the visit of Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, the Argentine Ambassador to Cairo, to Al Ahly’s headquarters on Al Jazeera island.
This visit underscored his profound appreciation for Al Ahly, its illustrious 116-year history, its pioneering role in football, and its dominance across various sports in Egypt and Africa over decades, along with its ownership of multiple branches meeting international standards.
Mahmoud El Khatib highlighted that Urriolabeitia expressed immense admiration for the club’s economic arms represented by its numerous companies.
He also expressed his desire to transfer this experience to sports institutions in Argentina and to work on preparing a memorandum of understanding between the two parties in the near future.
