Antoine Semenyo showcased his talent and determination with a remarkable double that propelled Bournemouth to a stunning 4-3 comeback victory against Luton on Wednesday night, leaving the young forward understandably elated.
The Cherries found themselves trailing 3-0 before mounting a remarkable resurgence, with Semenyo playing a pivotal role in their remarkable turnaround.
Reflecting on his performance, Semenyo expressed his delight at the team’s dramatic triumph.
“I haven’t been involved in a game like that before,” remarked Semenyo. “Yes (the first goal), it gave us so much momentum.
We knew that there would be chances in the game, so as soon as that one went in we knew that there were going to be many more.
We just had to continue playing the way we were playing.”
Semenyo’s brace not only underscored his clinical finishing but also his mental resilience, as he capitalized on the opportunities that came his way.
“I had a few chances in the previous games that I had missed and was frustrated with, but I knew I would get another chance or two. So I took the two that I got today so personally it was great,” he added.
Despite facing a daunting deficit at halftime, Semenyo emphasized the team’s unwavering commitment to their style of play and their belief in their ability to turn the tide.
“Even when we are down at halftime we know that man to man our game is about bravery.
So in the second half whether we are down or up we are going to be pressing the same way. We know that we’re going to have chances and second half today was amazing,” he explained.
Looking ahead, Semenyo remained optimistic about Bournemouth’s prospects of securing Premier League status, setting his sights on two crucial upcoming fixtures.
“I hope so. We are aiming to win two more games so hopefully when we come back from international duty we get one more win and that secures us,” he concluded, encapsulating the team’s determination to achieve their goals.
