Antony Mandrea, the goalkeeper for the Algerian national team, has expressed his regret over the departure of national coach Djamel Belmadi, citing their close relationship.
In an interview with “Ouest France,” Mandrea expressed his sentiments, saying, “This is painful. Belmadi, as well as being the coach, opened the doors of the national team to me.”
Reflecting on their bond, Mandrea added, “We developed fraternal ties. For me, if I am called up to the national team next month, it will be the first time I encounter a new coach and a new approach to the team.”
The Algerian international, who also plays as a goalkeeper for French club Stade Malherbe Caen, admitted to feeling a sense of uncertainty about the future, stating, “There is some uncertainty about what lies ahead.”
