Another injury blow for Pyramids as Mostafa Fathi sidelined for Super Cup

Pyramids FC has suffered a significant setback ahead of the Egyptian Super Cup, set to take place in the UAE between November 6 and 9.

The club’s international winger, Mostafa Fathi, will miss the tournament after sustaining a hamstring injury during the CAF Champions League match against Ethiopia Insurance. Dr. Mostafa El-Meniry, head of the medical staff, announced, “Medical tests have confirmed a muscle tear, and Fathi will be out for about four weeks. He will undergo a rehabilitation program to return as quickly as possible.”

Fathi has been a crucial part of coach Krunoslav Jurcic’s squad and played 139 matches, scoring 38 goals and assisting 24 times with Pyramids, marking the best scoring record in his career. The team also faces the absence of Ramadan Sobhi, who is abroad for knee treatment, and defender Osama Galal due to injury.

Meanwhile, a club source denied any negotiations to sign Al Ahly’s Aliou Dieng, stating, “Pyramids has not entered negotiations with any player from Al Ahly.” The source told Kooora, “Mohamed Hamdi remains a key member, and there’s no intention to release him.”

Despite these challenges, Pyramids remains determined to compete in upcoming matches, hoping for key players to recover soon.
