Algerian winger Anis Hadj Moussa opens up on Feyenoord future after standout season
Algerian international Anis Hadj Moussa has admitted uncertainty remains over his future at Feyenoord after enjoying one of the strongest periods of his career in the Netherlands.
The 24-year-old winger, who recently collected the Eredivisie Player of the Month award following a series of standout displays, discussed his form, growing transfer speculation and Algeria’s upcoming friendly against the Netherlands during an interview with ESPN.
Hadj Moussa has emerged as one of Feyenoord’s most influential players in recent weeks, helping the Rotterdam club secure qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Reflecting on his recent individual recognition, the Algerian winger expressed his delight after a successful month with the Dutch side.
“Just before the World Cup, I’m very happy. It was a good month; we qualified for the Champions League. I’m very satisfied.”
The Belgian-trained player has attracted increasing attention across Europe after producing several impressive performances throughout the campaign, with reports linking him to potential moves away from Feyenoord.
Despite the growing speculation surrounding his future, Hadj Moussa avoided making any firm statements regarding a possible transfer and insisted his immediate focus remains on his current club.
“I’m still here for the moment, but you never know. For now, I’m still a Feyenoord player.”
The Algerian international also spoke about the emotional significance of Algeria’s upcoming friendly match against the Netherlands, which is scheduled to take place on June 3 in Rotterdam as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For Hadj Moussa, the match carries special meaning because it will be played at De Kuip, the stadium he calls home during the domestic season with Feyenoord.
“Yes, it’s bizarre. Hearing the Algerian national anthem here at De Kuip, when I’ve played here all year… I’ll be playing this match in my own backyard.”
The friendly is expected to provide Algeria with an important test ahead of the World Cup, while also giving Hadj Moussa the chance to represent his country in familiar surroundings after a breakthrough season in Dutch football.
