Angel Yondjo Matah: Dijon linked with move for Lille B’s Cameroon forward
Cameroon centre-forward Angel Yondjo Matah of LOSC Lille B is being linked with a move to French side Dijon, with the 19-year-old reportedly on the radar of the Ligue 3 club.
The teenager, born in Douala on 10 February 2007, currently plays for Lille’s reserve team in National 2 Group E, but French reports suggest Dijon are exploring a deal as they look to add a mobile central striker to their squad. The probability of the move remains officially unclear, listed only as “?” at this stage.
Matah’s contractual situation is likely to fuel speculation. No expiry date is publicly registered on his current deal with Lille B, prompting suggestions Dijon could attempt to secure him on favourable terms or position themselves if he were to become a free agent in the near future. His market value is estimated at €200k, according to Transfermarkt, a figure that would make him a relatively low-cost gamble for a third-tier side.
Standing at 1.77m and preferring his right foot, Matah is primarily deployed as a centre-forward but is viewed as a modern attacking option capable of pressing from the front. He has been involved with Lille’s B set-up rather than the senior national team, with LOSC Lille B listed as his current “national team” affiliation on player databases.
Recent performances in National 2 have kept him on scouting radars, including a late-season outing in which he featured for Lille B in a tightly contested league fixture earlier this month. Although his side were held in a narrow scoreline and he did not get on the scoresheet, his movement and work rate in that match have been noted as part of his development at this level.
If Dijon firm up their interest and a move materialises, the switch could offer Matah a clearer first-team pathway in French football and a platform to build both his reputation and long-term potential in the professional game.
