Andrew Ndanga Kamanga, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President, has demonstrated positivity and gratitude in defeat as he lost his spot on the FIFA Council.
With a gracious plea, Kamanga looked back on his experience during the 14th Extraordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo.
“I was among the candidates for the FIFA Council seat but failed to make it unfortunately,” he acknowledged. But far from sulking in disappointment, he thanked various football associations across the continent immensely.
“Despite the failure, I am grateful for the endorsements from my country, Zambia, COSAFA, CECAFA, and the entire continent in my endeavour.”
Kamanga also extended his felicitations to those who had won in their elections.
“I wish to congratulate my fellow members who have been elected to the FIFA Council and to the CAF executive committee.”
He also did not forget to extend his congratulatory messages to CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe on his re-election, hailing his leadership.
A dedicated football administrator that he is, Kamanga looks to the future.
“I did my best and can only wish for a better luck story another time,” he remarked, demonstrating that resilience and dedication to African football remain his greatest concerns.
