André Onana faces harsh criticism from former Inter Milan goalkeeper amid Manchester United struggles

Andre Onana’s consistency has been called into question by former Manchester United goalkeeper coach Frans Hoek.

Frans Hoek, who worked with Spanish shot-stopper David de Gea during his time at Manchester United, believes that Andre Onana lacks the consistency that made David De Gea a standout performer.

Hoek, now coaching at Heerenveen, shared his thoughts with American RG: “He can play at an incredibly high level and can reach an incredible level, but you have to do it three times a week, 50-60 times a year, which is very difficult.

“Consistency is the most important thing for a goalkeeper.

“De Gea was incredibly consistent in my two years with United, and when I look at Onana I see that he is not consistent. ” Onana made his competitive debut for Manchester United in the Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 14 August 2023. He kept a clean sheet as United won the game 1–0.
