The highly anticipated Al Ahly vs. Zamalek Cup final is set to be officiated by Brazilian referee Anderson Daronco, as confirmed by the prominent sports journalist Medhat Shalaby.
The clash between the two Egyptian football giants is scheduled to take place next Friday at Al Oul Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the culmination of the 2022-2023 Egyptian Cup season.
During his appearance on the “Ya Masa’a Al Anwar” program broadcasted on MBC Egypt, Shalaby revealed, “The referee for the summit match between Al Ahly and Zamalek is Anderson Daronco, the Brazilian international referee who will officiate the summit match.”

Born in January 1981 in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Daronco, aged 43, is characterized by his robust physicality and muscular build, akin to bodybuilders.
He weighs around 89 kg and stands tall at 182 cm.
Before embarking on his career as a professional referee, Daronco worked as a physical education teacher.
He obtained his international badge in 2014 and earned the moniker “The Powerful Referee.”
Daronco has officiated numerous finals in Brazil and has also overseen several matches in the South American qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup and the Copa Libertadores.
Among his notable assignments was officiating the Riyadh Derby between Al Nassr and Al Ahli in the seventh round of the Saudi Professional League, which ended with Al Nassr clinching a 4-3 victory.
