Left-back Moussa Ndiaye has undergone surgery to address a pubic injury, rendering him unavailable for a significant period. The 21-year-old Senegalese player’s absence is expected to extend over several months, impacting Anderlecht’s defensive lineup and strategy.

As Anderlecht contends to maintain its position in the Jupiler Pro League title race, Ndiaye’s sidelining comes as an unfortunate blow.

The surgery, conducted on Wednesday, was deemed necessary to address the pubic injury, and the timeframe for Ndiaye’s return remains uncertain.

Brian Riemer, the coach of Anderlecht, refrained from providing a specific timeline for Ndiaye’s potential return, but it is anticipated that the Senegalese left-back may not be back in action before April.

This extended absence presents a challenge for the club, given Ndiaye’s commendable performance at the start of the season, contributing with 1 goal and 2 assists in 11 Championship matches.

The former resident of the ASPIRE Academy had showcased promising form, establishing himself as a valuable asset for Anderlecht.

However, the necessity of surgical intervention has interrupted his season, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of injuries in professional football.

As Anderlecht navigates the challenges of the Jupiler Pro League without Ndiaye’s defensive prowess, the club and its supporters await updates on the player’s recovery and eagerly anticipate his return to the pitch, anticipated to be a significant boost for the team in the latter stages of the season.
